Activity

Our activity can be divided into two core areas: idea creation and idea development.

In terms of idea creation, our starting point is usually to identify a perceived need or challenge. This can come from anywhere - a story on the news, a personal passion, a conversation. We like to focus on areas that are not too oversubscribed. We then come together, bringing relevant individuals into the mix, to develop some early stage ideas.

The development phase involves refining and focussing the idea until we end up with a coherent document that potential funders will understand. We will also, during this process, define potential project partners who can help deliver.

As well as developing our own ideas, we also work with members who have ideas they want to refine.

The end point is the same in both cases: a project proposal that can be pitched to funding organisations.

The Creative Network is not a delivery organisation - part of the refinement process is to identify partners who can deliver and to bring them on board. In some cases, this may be our own organisations; in some cases we may give an idea to someone else. However, the point at which the idea becomes a proposal is the point where the Creative Network steps aside.

The focus for the Network is entirely on creating and developing ideas.
